"chap lip"

"I shink (think) I got to much."  The kids call chap stick chap lip.  I turned around today and this is what I saw! AWWWWWWW!  I said something to the sorts of, "wow Luke!" and he said in his precious little voice, "I shink I got to much".  He is the most loving, precious child.  He was super whiney this morning so I sent him to his room.  He eventually stopped and came up stairs and was fine.  He asked me, "Mommy, are you happy to me?"  Love him.  David brought S & P to the dinner table the other night for the 1st time in a while.  Luke said, "I like peppermint Dad.  Can I have some?"  Sure Luke.  "Ummm, I like sauce too."  Such a little ham.  He steals our hearts DAILY!

Halle is finally BACK!  Where did she go?  Ummm, not sure but the little girl living in our house the last month was not the same one that has been residing here for the last five years.  Shew!  She truly turns into a bear, a grizzly bear if she is sick.  She does not complain and denies she is sick or in pain but she is impossible to parent.  We took she and Luke to the chiropractor Monday on the way home from C-ville.  Luke was up a TON both nights in C-ville complaining his side (side of his head/ear) was hurting.  Tuesday they both woke up literally different children!  We truly believe in chiropractic care and are so thankful for it!  Now poor Levi has a cold/cough.  HATE sick babies:(

Let Me Explain....

So, this is Giraffe....aka Giraffey.  Giraffey has been waking Halle up at night so she came to sleep in our room so she can learn a lesson.  IF, she wakes David and I up we are to take her downstairs to Halle and Halle will put her to bed in the family room.  Luckily, Giraffey did not wake us up!

Cheese!!

I took the big girls to the mall with me on Monday before we left Charlottesville.  They insisted I take their picture.  They went up to every mannequin saying, "hello, nice to meet you".......and actually every person they saw in the store.  Most everyone thought they were very cute and friendly:)

Armadillo

Halle painted this armadillo without any coaching! She is becoming quite the artist. Just like her auntie Joyce and auntie Katie!

Whew, what a week...

Is it Friday?  I thought it was Tuesday!  Lol!  Halle has been sick all week and Luke has been sick since yesterday.  Halle has been up and down all week.  Today I took her to the doctor.  She has had a fever on and off all week and has also had a persistent cough.  Her lungs sounded good but her O2 saturations were low.  We are going back tomorrow to have her O2 checked.  If she has a fever and/or her O2 sats are still low she will have blood work done and maybe an x-ray.  Dr. Tobey gave her Arbuterol to relax the muscles in the airway and increase air flow in the lungs.  She is pitiful.  Today was her 1st sick visit to the doctor since she was at least 2.  We aren't use to seeing her sick, especially for this long.  My mom is coming up tomorrow!  Hallelujah!

I do not handle the kids being sick very gracefully.  I resort to state of panic and become like a noodle.  I personally struggle with fear, fear of what lies ahead, fear of one of the kids becoming ill.  I quickly have to regain perspective.....my eternal perspective.  Remind myself our suffering is limited to this earth.  I look back and know the Lord, my refuge, my strength, my shepherd, has never left me nor forsaken me.  When Luke was hospitalized at 6 days old I was a disaster.  I could not stay in the ER room.  I physically could not stay on my feet.  I felt helpless and weak.  I pulled myself together, just as I did when Levi was born.  David is my rock, our rock.  He is always a rock star when I am a disaster.

Praying for strength.  Praying the next few days and weeks are healthier!

Friday's Funnies

Luke and Halle had gymnastics last night.  Halle's 1st teacher, Miss Cindy, is back and is now Luke's teacher.  David was telling me about it.  We asked Luke what her name was and he didn't remember.  We told him and he said, "Miss Cindy.  Where does she live?  In China or Christiansburg?"  They watch Kai-lan.....a cartoon about a little girl in China.

Halle picked up Luke's play phone yesterday and has been talking to Emma for 2 days now.  She told Luke as they set down for lunch yesterday that Grace said for him to call her later.  Today David and I both asked her to do something on two different occasions.  Her response to both of us was, "wait a minute, I have to text Emma back."  David is on my case all the time about texting.....now Halle too:)

Tomorrow David is taking the kids to Lowes for a Build With Me class with the kids.  Happy weekend!

Toot 2

Halle built this snowman all by herself! Last year she named her snowman Toot. This year he is Toot 2!! She rolled the balls all by herself! It took her several attempts.... Luke would tackle her snow balls as soon as she could get one started. Lol!

Like mommy, like Luke

I always tell him to hold on, wait a minute while I am on the phone. Today Luke was talking to Grace, on his Disney phone, and gave me the finger when I asked him to do something. Nice.

Found Em'

I found my toes!! This last week Levi discovered his hands and toes! So cute to watch him inspect them and grab his toes.

Birthday Dinner

December 6, 2010
Halle wanted to go to a restaurant that sang Happy Birthday and gave her a Birthday dessert.  David and I did a little persuading and Outback it was!  She carried her giraffe, giraffey, in a basket to join us for dinner.  She claims she can do all kinds of things now that she is 5!  Any time we ask her to do something she hasn't done before she says, "now I can______ since I am 5?"  A whole new attitude has accompanied "5"!

Halle's 5th Birthday Party

Love this!!

Hello Kitty Party
Here are pictures from Halle's Birthday party on December 11th.  I am SOOO behind on posting our December events.  Halle was a little off at her party.   She had a fever Sunday morning so I assume she didn't feel well.  She had lots of fun with all her friends.  Gymnastics is always a great party.  This year I decided to allow her to create her own guest list and invite friends from Awanas.  Her friend Chloe was in town from Richmond and was able to make her party.  She was super excited and misses Chloe lots!
