OBX 2012

I left OBX thinking we didn't take many pictures.
I also came home saying we didn't really do much.
Now that I have finally sat down and looked at our pictures, I realize I was totally wrong.  I guess I'll blame it on 'placenta brain'.  That is an easy one these days!

David's wonderful grandparents participated in the mayhem our 1st week.
Mama T somehow got Halle to read to her!

Levi was a little charmer for 2 weeks.  He had a thing for crocheting.  Several times he climbed on to Mama T's lap and sat forever attempting to crochet!

Our attempt at putt-putt.
Everyone on the green at once.
Halle would hit the ball once, pick it up, and move on.  Luke played each hole at least 2x.  Caroline just stood on the green and would occasionally put her foot in the hole.  Benson just threw his ball.  Levi ran around.  Savannah waited until everyone had finished and moved on, then she completed each hole with intense concentration.
Kathryn and I were the only adults who even attempted to play.  Only because we made the mistake of paying for 2 adults, but quickly realized that was stupid.  The guys asked for a refund ($8.50 per adult), but they said NO!  Not surprising.
Fun times.

Early Morning Duck Donut run!
Went something like this....
"If you put the kids to bed and let me go fishing tonight, I'll let you sleep in and I'll take the kids, load them with sugar, and bring them back get up with the kids in the morning."

Beach Time!!

19 Weeks Pregnant

Hot Pool Time!

Pawpaw and Colin singing Jingle Bells to the boys.
Pawpaw sang it all. week. long.

One of our favorite restaurants is Barefoot Bernie's.  One of the only nights we went out to eat.
We took turns cooking all the other nights.

Halle had some fun with the iPad.

Luke tagged along with David and Stephen for some early morning fishing.
David gave Luke one of his fishing poles.....you would of thought it was Christmas!
Such a grateful child:)

Dr. Blowers caught the big one!  And yes, we ate it for dinner!

Here is Levi crocheting, yet again.  Those are his charmer eyes.  He worked it all week long!

David took Halle and Luke to the top of the Hatteras Lighthouse.

Jeanette's Pier

We always have a 'picture night'.
This year we decided to stay at our house and take advantage of our amazing back yard, rather than going to the ocean.

This pretty much sums up what that evening usually looks like.

Early morning walk on the beach.

Going out for lunch with mom and dad.

Summer swingin'

Luke is officially swinging on his own!

Notice the shed? David built it from 'scratch'. He isn't completely satisfied with the door, so he is waiting to paint it. We have some trim work and some landscaping to do in order to wrap up that project!

It's A Small World...By Halle

I have been the worst piano mom in the world!  I always forget to make Halle practice.  She was anxious about her recital so she took it upon herself to practice for a few days before.  Sunday she said she needed to stay home from church so she could practice all day long!  Ha!

She was nervous during her performance but did pretty well.  She was playing in front of several of her friends so I know she felt the pressure!

Now she has decided she wants to practice everyday and that she loves piano!  I guess this is a good place to start being a better piano mom:)

Proverbs 16:9

Can you tell what these picture have in common?

A man's heart plans his way,
But the Lord directs his steps.
    Proverbs 16:9

Our plans were made.
3 was good for now.
Oops?
To us, yes.  To God, no.

Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,
So are the children of one's youth.
Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them;
They shall not be ashamed,
But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.
   Psalms 127:3-5
